Occasionally we dive head-first into our fantastically rich archive (abundant with some jaw-dropping and even corny designs!). Every time we resurface a little wiser and a lot happier. One of our deep dives inspired us to make this fantastic big pattern sweater.
“Vilja” is a Nordic feminine given name meaning both “richness” and “grain”, but also “will”. The will to see things afresh. The will to pass on the very best of our Norwegian design history.
There is a note of both the 50s and the 60s in the Vilja sweater. The design elements are amplified, featuring the classic Norwegian eight-petal rose, the cross known from the Setesdal and Cortina pattern, and the lice pattern. Knitted in 100% lightweight wool.
